Back to the Old School celebrates the golden age of Hip Hop (late 1970's - 2000). With 'Crossover Classic' and 'Homegrown Heroes' features.
A mid-morning magazine show with Amy and Sally - with new topics every week as well as some great music and regular features.
Join Mark Allison for All the Colors of Rock every Wednesday at 7pm playing a mixture of classic rock tracks, obscure bands and unsigned bands from all over the world including the occasional local act. The rock music ranges from ‘pop rock’ to ‘heavy rock’ hence ‘All The Colors…’.
Mark has been a music fan since a young age. In his teens he started playing guitar and played in various local bands through to his early twenties. While working at the Inverness Courier back at the start of the 1990’s as a graphic designer, he was encouraged by then arts editor Jim Love to write some pieces on local bands and concerts taking place. From then on, he would jump at the chance to put pen to paper for a magazine or newspaper review.
After turning 40, Mark suddenly found himself more immersed in music than ever before with a return to playing including working with musicians like Nik Kershaw, pro-actively helping and facilitating connections in order for various organisations to put on concerts, JLS at Ross County being an example.
With the website Invernessgigs, Mark also finds himself writing regularly about bands that come to the area. Most recently, he gained the opportunity to work on marketing and fan club business for Australian based band the Dead Daisies who feature Dizzy Reed from Guns N Roses among others and has now been integrated as part of the bands official back room team.
